Position Overview
Join Aloft Hotels as a Telephone Operator in Abu Dhabi, assisting guests by managing all incoming calls, requests, and concerns efficiently through the hotel's telephone switchboard system. This role focuses on providing excellent guest communication and support with professionalism and care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and document all guest phone calls, including requests for wake-up calls, call screening, call forwarding, conference calls, and messages for registered or non-registered guests.
- Advise guests promptly on messages received and monitor phone lines for busy or unanswered calls, providing updates or taking messages when necessary.
- Activate and deactivate guest room message indicators as required and assist with internet access issues by directing guests to the service provider's support.
- Test telephone and communication equipment to confirm proper operation.
- Respond to unique guest needs and escalate matters to relevant departments or personnel to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Follow up to verify guests' concerns or requests are addressed satisfactorily.
- Dispatch bell or valet staff as needed for guest assistance.
- Maintain company standards in guest interactions, personal appearance, and confidentiality.
- Support team objectives by fostering positive workplace interactions and adhering to quality assurance standards.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, sitting for extended times, and lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds.
- Carry out additional duties as requested by supervisors.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Educational background: Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No previous related work experience or supervisory responsibilities required.
- Strong communication skills with professional telephone etiquette.
- Ability to use computers and point-of-sale systems to access and enter information.
