Role Overview

Dexcom's facility in Athenry is currently inviting applications for Technician positions (levels 1 to 3) for the Weekend Night Shift, set to commence in the latter half of 2026. Working a rotating 12-hour night shift schedule covering every Friday through Sunday and alternate Thursdays, the schedule follows a pattern of four nights on, three off, then three nights on, and four off.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and checkout procedures on automated equipment using schematics, layouts, and technical documentation.
• Assess electro-mechanical assemblies through testing with specialized equipment.
• Operate and maintain robotic equipment, vision systems, PLCs, pneumatic and electromechanical systems within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Support equipment installation, validation, and transfer processes to scale manufacturing for Dexcom products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to meet equipment specifications and deployment timelines.
• Document and analyze test results, updating manuals, drawings, and specifications as required.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
• Assist in equipment development projects by assembling and testing components, performing engineering validations under project engineer supervision.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned while maintaining focus on safety and quality.

Candidate Profile

• Qualifications typically at National Framework Level 6 or 7 with experience levels dependent on technician grade (0-6 years ranging from Technician 1 to 3).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting scientific and technical documentation related to equipment functionalities.
• Capability to compose routine reports, handovers, and operational correspondence effectively.
• Strong communication skills to clearly interact with supervisors, engineers, and management.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, pneumatics, automated production machinery, electro/mechanical systems, and packaging equipment is highly valued.
• Demonstrated involvement in process improvements such as yield enhancement and downtime reduction.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while upholding high reliability standards.
• Technical writing skills pertinent to manufacturing documentation and process development.
