The role is based at the modern Kedron head office, supporting a collaborative yet professional environment. This is a full-time, office-based position requiring attendance five days per week.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Tax Manager, the Tax Accountant will ensure the company meets all tax obligations accurately and punctually. The candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of taxation matters within a complex corporate group. This role is ideal for a technically proficient professional aiming to advance their career in corporate taxation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and oversee compliance with BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, and Income Tax requirements
- Ensure conformity with Federal and State tax legislation
- Evaluate tax documentation including workpapers and reconciliations
- Provide tax-related advice and support across various finance teams
- Carry out tax research and interpret legislative updates
- Manage timelines for tax compliance and lodgement schedules
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and professional service providers
- Assist during audits and information requests by the ATO and State Revenue Office
- Support tax-related projects including acquisitions, restructures, and due diligence
- Drive improvements in tax processes, systems, and reporting efficiency
- Offer training and guidance to internal stakeholders as needed
Candidate Profile
- Possession of CA or CPA qualification or actively pursuing these credentials
- Three to five years of taxation experience in either public practice or corporate settings
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian taxation laws and compliance demands
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and financial software systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with robust organizational capabilities
- Capacity to handle multiple priorities efficiently and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment
