Role Overview
Based in Nairobi, Kenya, this position supports and improves procurement activities for Puratos Kenya. The role focuses on keeping local operations aligned with global standards while driving better cost control, supplier outcomes, compliance, and import/export performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out procurement work in line with Puratos’ worldwide strategy, internal policies, and operating procedures.
- Identify and source raw materials from both Kenyan and international suppliers in a cost-conscious way.
- Raise, monitor, and manage purchase orders so deliveries arrive on time.
- Handle import and export activities, including the required paperwork and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and relevant government offices.
- Keep the supplier records accurate and current according to vendor management standards.
- Assist with supplier reviews, audits, and ongoing improvement efforts.
- Make sure procurement activities meet food safety, quality, and sustainability expectations.
- Track inventory and work with planning teams to avoid stock shortages or interruptions.
- Prepare procurement analyses and reports that support business decisions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain functions.
- Hands-on experience with import/export processes and sourcing locally.
- Good knowledge of international trade rules and Kenyan customs procedures.
- Professional credentials such as CIPS or CPSP-K, or membership in KISM, will be considered an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
