Supply Chain Manager

Role overview

This position is responsible for overseeing purchasing and material flow across the business. The manager will lead supplier management, procurement planning, inventory control, and coordination with internal teams to keep manufacturing operations supplied efficiently.

The role focuses on improving processes, reducing cost, strengthening delivery performance, and maintaining dependable movement of materials across both domestic and international supply chains.

Core responsibilities

• Direct procurement and material management for components, subassemblies, and services.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors in the U.S. and overseas.
• Work with Engineering and Quality teams to evaluate, qualify, and approve suppliers.
• Contribute to sourcing plans for new product launches and development programs.
• Track supplier performance, including delivery reliability and quality results.
• Visit suppliers and carry out audits when required.
• Review and authorize purchase requests.
• Update purchasing plans to match production changes and customer schedules.
• Lead efforts to reduce costs and improve overall material spend.
• Create and share KPIs covering purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance.
• Manage kitting activities so production and customer delivery targets are met.
• Oversee demand forecasts, order planning, and fulfillment activities.
• Use MRP and ERP systems to produce requirements, forecasts, and purchase orders.
• Handle supplier agreements and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate with freight carriers and logistics partners while controlling related costs.
• Maintain accurate MRP records, including part numbers and BOM information.
• Partner with Production Planning to support smooth daily operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 to 10 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain functions, with leadership exposure included.
• Strong negotiation ability and hands-on supplier management experience.
• Solid background using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to manage complex supply chains spanning multiple product lines.
• Preferred exposure to electronic component sourcing and international supplier management.
