Supermarket Operator (Grocery)

Job Overview

The position involves managing pricing, restocking, and organizing merchandise within the retail space of a supermarket. Maintaining the area well supplied and orderly according to layout standards is essential.

Key Duties

• Ensure the sales area remains stocked as per the standard layout requirements.
• Replenish shelves by moving goods from storage according to demand.
• Prevent stockouts in the sales area when inventory is available.
• Daily checks to verify all products displayed have appropriate price tags.
• Receive section labels and carry out accurate pricing, confirming correctness of information.
• Clean products before shelving and maintain cleanliness of gondolas when required.
• Organize the section by product type, ensuring higher placement for fast-moving items.
• Notify supervisors when items are nearing depletion or have run out.
• Arrange excess or promotional items in strategic spots for better customer visibility and accessibility.
• Assist customers with product inquiries, accompany them to sections, and fetch items as needed.
• Identify damaged merchandise and remove it from the sales area.
• Inform the person in charge about restocking needs.
• Monitor product expiry dates and remove items from the sales floor three days prior to expiration.
• Manage returns by replenishing returned goods appropriately.
