Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you are vital in fostering a safe, well-organized, and welcoming environment for customers. Your primary duties include retrieving shopping carts from designated corrals, parking areas, and store perimeters, then returning them to approved storage spots following proper procedures. This role emphasizes excellent customer service, safety, and teamwork to facilitate smooth store operation while developing retail experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and return shopping carts from cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters efficiently and safely per Walmart-approved processes and maintain accurate log records.
• Respond quickly to requests coming from checkout counters and Customer Service, including assisting customers with both carry outs and carry ins, verifying receipts when needed.
• Carry out occasional cleaning and maintenance tasks such as restroom upkeep, adhering to safety guidelines for chemical use, disposal, and power equipment operation, along with completing required equipment inspections.
• Follow all safety policies and emergency procedures, including hazardous communications, lockout/tagout protocols, and bloodborne pathogen handling to ensure a safe workplace for both customers and co-workers.
• Maintain a hazard-free workspace by consistently using personal protective gear like steel-toe shoes and reflective vests, conducting safety sweeps, and following company safety standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working varied shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate to help the store maintain consistent service.

Job Challenges

• Manage high task volume efficiently in a fast-paced setting, especially during overnight shifts, by properly planning and maintaining focus and energy.
• Handle physically demanding tasks including standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive stocking, zoning, and product organization duties with attention to detail to meet store standards consistently.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.05 per hour.
