Role overview
We are looking for a Stock Controller Team Leader to oversee day-to-day stock control activities, keep inventory records accurate, and improve the efficiency of stock handling across the business. The position is focused on leading a team, applying strong stock management practices, and helping warehouse and distribution operations run smoothly.
What you will do
- Supervise, coach, and develop the stock control team so procedures are followed and performance stays strong.
- Design and roll out stock control workflows that improve accuracy and make operations more efficient.
- Carry out routine stock audits and look into differences between actual physical counts and system records.
- Use inventory systems to monitor stock movement, maintain records, and prepare reports for review.
- Work closely with purchasing, logistics, and sales teams to support product availability and business needs.
- Handle stock receiving, storage, and distribution while making sure safety and quality rules are met.
- Spot stock trends, suggest improvements for inventory optimisation, and report on stock KPIs.
- Coordinate replenishment with suppliers and build positive working relationships with them.
- Make sure all stock management activities follow company policies and internal procedures.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a similar discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in stock control or inventory management, including a minimum of 1 year in a leadership position.
- Solid knowledge of stock control principles and standard industry practices.
- Hands-on experience using inventory management software and related systems.
- Strong analytical ability and careful attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure and manage several priorities at once.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
