Stewarding Associate

Position Overview

The Stewarding Associate plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and storage areas at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts located in Sharjah. This position involves operating and caring for cleaning machines and utensils, handling deliveries, and ensuring hygienic standards are met in food preparation and storage areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning machinery such as dishwashers, hand wash and pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen and storeroom spaces along with tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Manage deliveries by storing perishables properly and rotating stock to ensure freshness.
• Use appropriate detergents and sanitizers in washing dishes through a standardized three-compartment sink method.
• Inspect and handle cleaned items, including stacking and re-washing to maintain quality.
• Perform additional cleaning duties such as mopping floors, emptying trashcans, managing dumpster areas, and correctly disposing of recyclables like glass and cardboard.

Safety and Teamwork

• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and promptly report any maintenance issues or unsafe conditions.
• Complete necessary safety training and certifications to protect company assets and personnel.
• Communicate professionally, fostering positive workplace relationships to help achieve team objectives.
• Physically handle materials up to 50 pounds and perform extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping as required.

• No supervisory duties are expected in this role.
• No licenses or certifications needed to fulfill this position.
