About the Role
An experienced Senior Automation Engineer is needed to contribute to large-scale industrial and process-plant automation work. The position centers on Siemens S7-400 and PCS 7 environments and includes everything from understanding client needs and producing engineering documentation to building PLC/SCADA solutions, completing testing, and driving commissioning through to final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather process-plant automation requirements from clients and translate them into clear documentation.
- Develop Functional Design Specifications, control philosophies, test plans, and other core engineering deliverables.
- Create and maintain PLC and SCADA solutions using Siemens STEP 7, PCS 7, and WinCC.
- Set up, verify, and resolve issues in communication networks such as Profibus, Profinet, and Industrial Ethernet.
- Carry out internal testing, Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, and commissioning at site.
- Track punch lists, close technical issues, and support a clean project handover to the customer.
- Collaborate with both internal stakeholders and client teams to ensure project milestones are met successfully.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Between 5 and 9 years of relevant industrial automation experience, specifically with Siemens S7-400 and PCS 7.
- Hands-on capability with Siemens tools including STEP 7, PCS 7, and WinCC.
- Good grasp of process automation, control systems, and instrumentation concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with solid documentation ability.
- A valid Qatar driving licence is considered an advantage.

The ideal applicant is proactive, careful with details, and comfortable taking ownership of automation projects across the full lifecycle—from requirements collection to commissioning and final transfer.
