About the Role
JKS Restaurants is looking for an experienced Sommelier to join their team for an exciting new opening at Gymkhana Dubai, located in DIFC. This venue will introduce Gymkhana's signature Indian cuisine and warm hospitality to Dubai for the first time, replicating the brand’s distinctive style inspired by the historic gymkhana clubs of India, featuring elegant interiors with timber panelling, brass accents, and a rich colour palette. The menu will include Gymkhana London favourites such as Aloo Chaat, Tandoori Masala Lamb Chops, Kid Goat Methi Keema, and Chicken Butter Masala, alongside exclusive new dishes for this location.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional guest service in both the restaurant and private dining settings.
- Provide expert wine recommendations that complement guests’ preferences and menu choices.
- Engage warmly with customers, enhancing their dining experience through knowledgeable service.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience as an Assistant Head Sommelier or Senior Sommelier in quality dining establishments, preferably in Dubai.
- Possession of WSET or an equivalent sommelier certification.
- Fluency in English with professional and confident communication skills.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- A thorough understanding of food and beverage pairings and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
