Position Overview
As a Solution Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting and selling the full range of company products and solutions. You will consistently meet and exceed sales objectives by identifying client needs, providing customized solutions, and fostering long-term value-based relationships. Upholding company policies and operating standards, you will enhance market presence and strengthen the brand's reputation through professional and ethical representation.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, targeting both new and existing clientele for the entire product and solution range.
- Take ownership of achieving sales targets by implementing effective growth strategies that contribute to increasing market share.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to present and position company offerings effectively; manage the sales process from lead qualification through to closing tailored customer solutions.
- Establish and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders such as end-users, consultants, contractors, and partners to influence project specifications and encourage early involvement in opportunities; organize meetings and educational sessions with consultants and contractors.
- Maintain a robust, high-quality sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and reporting to track progress versus sales goals; consistently update information in the CRM system.
- Monitor industry trends, market shifts, and competitor activities; utilize insights to continuously refine market strategies and improve competitive positioning.
- Work with solution architects and pre-sales engineers to develop comprehensive, customer-focused proposals that distinguish the company in competitive bids.
- Lead the execution of sales initiatives aligning with business goals and provide monthly progress updates, including risks and required adjustments, to ensure alignment with market conditions.
- Utilize the company’s operating system to drive continuous improvement in sales processes, customer engagement, and overall customer experience.
Workplace Safety and Compliance
- Adhere strictly to all Work, Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality standards.
- Promote a culture of safety within the workplace actively.
Interdepartmental and External Engagements
- Internal collaboration with Head of Sales NZ, sales and services teams, product management, application engineers, bid teams, solutions specialists, and ANZ leadership.
- Engagement with external stakeholders including end customers, consultants, contractors, industry leaders, channel partners, distributors, and builders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum five years of sales experience, preferably within the Thermal Critical Infrastructure sector.
- Technical qualifications, ideally in Thermal Engineering.
- Understanding of the Critical Infrastructure market and knowledge of sales and negotiation techniques.
- Tertiary education in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
