Social Media Specialist with Substack Experience

Role overview

Beyond the Rx is seeking a digitally fluent content manager to strengthen its audience across Substack, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This role is hands-on and creative, with a strong emphasis on Substack growth and community building.

This is not a standard social media position. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Substack, including Notes, recommendations, collaborations, and subscriber acquisition. You should know what content succeeds on the platform, what falls flat, and how to grow an engaged community in an authentic way.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage the company’s Substack presence, especially through Notes.
• Generate fresh content concepts and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
• Write scripts for short-form video content.
• Support video shoots, including lighting setup and filming.
• Edit video content, including audio cleanup and sound work.
• Publish and plan content across social channels.
• Monitor engagement metrics and spot opportunities to expand reach and growth.

Additional notes

Candidates who are not familiar with Substack should not apply, as platform knowledge is essential for this role. Experience in wellness, publishing, marketing, journalism, or audience growth is considered a plus.
