Overview
This contracting role involves managing and moderating a vibrant Reddit community focused on technology. The successful candidate will nurture positive interactions, uphold community standards, and stimulate engaging conversations to help guide the community’s growth and tone. Acting as the primary liaison for community members, the manager will foster an inviting and informative atmosphere. This position is 100% remote and suited for an individual passionate about online communities with comprehensive knowledge of Reddit culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily moderation activities on the Reddit community, ensuring posts and comments comply with established guidelines.
- Initiate and actively engage in conversations to boost member participation and enthusiasm.
- Address user questions and resolve disputes promptly with professionalism.
- Devise and execute tactics aimed at enhancing and maintaining community involvement.
- Track emerging trends and member feedback to shape content and engagement approaches.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure community efforts support larger company goals.
- Compile and present regular reports detailing community engagement and overall health.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience moderating or managing online communities, ideally on Reddit.
- Deep familiarity with Reddit’s platform features, culture, and best practices.
- Exceptional written communication skills and ability to build rapport with community members.
- Capacity to navigate sensitive matters tactfully and discreetly.
- Strong organizational aptitude with keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating independently in a remote work environment.
- Availability to monitor and respond to community activity as required.
