About the Role
Kensal Studios is recruiting a Social Media Manager to join their team and manage the digital presence for a client operating in the basketball industry. This hands-on position requires someone adept at growing sports follower bases, reacting swiftly during live events, and transforming key moments into engaging social content. The role involves leading daily management of the client’s digital platforms, ensuring that content remains timely, relevant, platform-tailored, and consistent throughout the basketball season.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee all social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Publish content aligned with the client’s strategic content plan
- Maintain content calendars and manage scheduling processes
- Customize content according to platform-specific audience preferences
- Create compelling captions, headlines, and social copy for all channels
- Craft LinkedIn articles and newsletters
- Support communication efforts for announcements, game days, partnerships, and commercial campaigns
- Engage actively with fans across all platforms, monitoring conversations and responding appropriately
- Foster audience interaction and support community growth
- Handle escalation of customer service matters when necessary
- Lead social media coverage during live events, capturing and editing content primarily via mobile devices
- Publish real-time updates and highlight significant moments during events
Candidate Profile
- In-depth knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube platforms
- Exceptional writing skills for social media content
- Experience with video editing tools such as CapCut or similar software
- Demonstrated understanding of content related to sports, entertainment, or creators
Contract Details and Expectations
This is a compensated fixed-term contract. Remuneration will be negotiated based on the candidate’s experience level. The position requires an average commitment of four days per week with some evening and weekend work as necessary. The successful individual must be based in London and able to work onsite at least one to two days weekly, also attending client events as required.
