Role Overview

As a Social Care Worker, you will play a crucial role as a key worker providing support and advocacy for those using the service. Your responsibilities will emphasize fostering independence by encouraging skill development and focusing on the individual’s abilities. This involves assisting with daily practical tasks and helping clients develop and achieve goals outlined in their person-centred plans. Encouraging informed decision-making, facilitating community engagement through creative inclusion, and promoting positive risk-taking are vital aspects of this role.

Location and Employment Details

Positions are available in Limerick City and West Limerick areas including Newcastle West, Abbeyfeale, Liosmor, and Askeaton. These permanent posts offer part-time hours with onsite work.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a recognised qualification and be eligible for registration as a Social Care Worker under CORU regulations.
  • A valid full manual driving license suitable for operating manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads is essential.
  • Experience supporting individuals displaying challenging behaviours is desirable.
  • The role may involve providing tailored individualised support services.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is aligned with the Social Care Worker 12-point pay scale, offering a salary range of €41,260 to €57,789 (pro-rata).
