About the Role
Silverstrand is looking for skilled Site Engineers and Project Engineers to join their team working on the DIDO project, a major infrastructure initiative located 4 hours west of Brisbane, Queensland. You will report directly to the Project Manager and play a vital role in advancing the project by performing civil and structural work and maintaining safe, high-quality operations aligned with company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform self-executed civil and structural activities
- Oversee that all work complies with safety protocols, engineering drawings, specifications, budgets, and timelines
- Develop, monitor, and update project plans aligned with weekly and monthly schedules
- Provide engineering guidance and technical support to the project team
- Support procurement processes for critical subcontractors and suppliers
- Assure quality standards are met throughout project phases
- Plan and schedule works efficiently
- Prepare four-week lookahead reports covering labor, plant, and scope elements
- Identify risks and collaborate with site teams to implement mitigation strategies
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor payment claims, variations, and resolve issues
- Handle approvals related to subcontractor variations, delays, or extensions
- Work closely with site supervisors to optimize project delivery techniques
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- 2 to 5 years of engineering experience on civil infrastructure projects such as civils, earthworks, pipe installation, and large FRP structures
- Proficient in reading and interpreting civil, structural, and services drawings
- Capability to raise and manage technical queries effectively
- Familiarity with construction scheduling and work sequencing
- Understanding of quality control systems in construction
- Proven strong safety track record from previous projects
