Ship's Cook / Housekeeper

About the Role

Ecomare Shipping seeks a skilled and dependable Ship's Cook / Housekeeper to become part of our work boat crew. The vessel accommodates roughly 10 crew members and requires minimum six-week rotation periods onboard.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily for approximately 10 crew members.
• Plan menus and manage food provisioning for extended sea deployments.
• Handle purchasing and inventory management of food, drinks, and galley supplies.
• Oversee stock control and ensure appropriate food storage practices.
• Maintain strict galley cleanliness and uphold hygiene standards.
• Perform general housekeeping duties throughout the vessel, including cleaning crew cabins, bunks, toilets, showers, mess, lounge, and common areas.
• Maintain the captain's bridge cleanliness and upkeep.
• Manage laundry duties involving bed linen and towels as required.
• Handle the management and replenishment of cleaning and housekeeping supplies.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience as a Ship’s Cook, Offshore Cook, Steward, or similar maritime catering and housekeeping role.
• Capability to independently manage catering and housekeeping operations for a crew of 10.
• Strong organizational skills in provisioning and inventory control.
• Commitment to the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation.
• Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working closely with a small crew.
• Willingness and ability to stay onboard during rotations of no less than six weeks.
• Possess valid maritime certifications and meet medical fitness standards applicable to the role.
