Job description
Role Overview
This role is focused on night shifts at the Tesco Newtownabbey superstore, generally working from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Shift Leaders are key to running the store efficiently during these night hours, including coordinating teams and delivering excellent customer service in a dynamic retail environment.
Work Schedule and Compensation
- Guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week, with flexible options down to 12 hours if preferred.
- Hourly pay starts at £15.59, plus an extra £2.35 for every hour worked between midnight and 6:00 AM.
- Schedules are provided with three weeks' notice.
- Additional location-based payments might apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead team shifts ensuring a clean, well-stocked store that surpasses customer expectations.
- Coach and support colleagues, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Act as the main contact in the absence of the store manager for day-to-day issues.
- Oversee store opening and closing procedures and maintain safety standards.
- Improve store operations and coordinate special events and community activities.
- Ensure ongoing communication and keep staff informed of updates.
- Promote and celebrate excellent colleague performance.
