Service Engineer - Maharashtra

About the Role

This position falls under the Customer Service Department focused on Post-sales Service Operations to ensure contractual obligations are met with customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive technical expertise of jobs, sites, and turbine operations while staying in daily contact with local technicians.
• Take full responsibility for a designated sub-area, managing overall performance and progress.
• Foster a strong customer-centric approach by promoting quality, accountability, and workforce efficiency.
• Enforce a safety-first and quality-oriented culture among Vestas teams and external service providers at all times.
• Conduct daily management of the area, overseeing progress, safety, and quality standards.
• Ensure subcontractors have valid safety documentation and certified equipment before work.
• Verify that approved lifting plans and valid Permits to Work are secured prior to task execution.
• Serve as a leadership role model to technicians by demonstrating professionalism and safe work behaviors.
• Provide coaching and guidance to improve technician skills, performance, and responsibility.
• Encourage accountability for turbine operations and daily site activities.
• Set clear performance goals, recognize achievements, and identify growth opportunities.
• Ensure technicians fully understand service orders and work instructions before beginning tasks.
• Execute all tasks following approved procedures and work instructions precisely.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge in turbine operations, troubleshooting, and major component replacement (MCR).
• Completed technical training in electrotechnology or mechanics.
• Experience in managing remote teams.
• Background in a technology company or administrative role is preferred.
• Familiarity with the renewable or wind energy sector is advantageous, though not mandatory.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-oriented approach.
• High awareness and commitment to safety.
• Friendly, open attitude towards colleagues and stakeholders.
