Sentence Planning Adviser

Role Overview

The Sentence Planning Adviser role supports the routine functions of Sentence Management Services, operating either within a correctional centre or designated HUB environments. This position focuses on accurate and timely assessment of prisoners upon entry into the correctional system, ensuring their detention and supervision comply with legal requirements. The Adviser will also handle administrative responsibilities aligned with established protocols to maintain an effective and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise assessments of prisoners entering the correctional facility to confirm lawful detention and supervision status.
• Manage and execute administrative duties according to organisational policies and procedures, ensuring smooth and effective sentence management operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Familiarity with the criminal justice system or equivalent legislated environments, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating the capacity to quickly learn this knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and resilience in demanding work settings.
• Effective planning and organisational aptitude to meet deadlines consistently.
• Interpersonal and negotiation skills vital for collaborating with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders.
