Job Overview
This position is for a Senior Software Engineer working as a contractor approximately 15 hours per week in a fully remote capacity. The role involves leveraging your expertise to train next-generation AI systems by developing Reinforcement Learning Environments that challenge AI models in solving complex software engineering problems using Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools. No prior AI experience is required; domain expertise in software engineering is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Reinforcement Learning Environments to assess AI models' ability to fix bugs, add features, refactor code, and optimize software performance.
- Create reproducible environments with deterministic verification and develop golden reference solutions to accurately evaluate MCP tool usage and software engineering skills.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Rust, C++, Python, Java, GoLang, or Typescript.
- Deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and techniques for performance tuning.
- Proven experience resolving complex software issues and delivering maintainable codebases.
- Expertise in developing new features and refactoring existing code.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize applications for scalability and speed.
- Excellent communication skills with great attention to detail.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional, possibly remote, teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling large-scale distributed codebases.
- Familiarity with modern AI or machine learning frameworks is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Active participation in thorough code reviews and adhering to software best practices.
