Role Summary
The Senior Operations Staff will manage daily operational tasks within service centers, hubs, warehouses, and processing units to guarantee shipment accuracy, productivity, safety, and compliance. This role supports Shift In-charges with workload distribution, coaching, exception handling, and adherence to standard procedures, upholding operational discipline and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute shipment receiving, segregation, sorting, scanning, bagging, tagging, and processing tasks accurately and safely.
- Assist with loading/unloading shipments ensuring safe material handling.
- Prevent operational errors by verifying shipment routing and conducting reconciliation and manifest checks.
- Operate data entry and update shipment information using company systems, maintaining documentation accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure compliance with Blue Dart’s SOPs, perform quality checks to minimize errors, and engage in process improvement initiatives.
- Mentor new operational staff, promote SOP adherence, support daily activity coordination, and foster teamwork.
- Uphold safety and security protocols, report incidents, and promote workplace safety culture.
- Maintain professionalism including grooming, uniform compliance, punctuality, and workspace organization.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts, operational reviews, and adoption of new processes and technologies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum education: 10th standard pass; higher qualifications preferred.
- 3 to 6 years of pertinent experience in logistics, warehouse operations, express distribution, courier, or supply chain roles.
- Familiarity with shipment processing techniques, sorting, scanning, handheld scanners, and warehouse management systems is advantageous.
Applicant Eligibility
- At least 18 years of age with physical fitness to handle standing, walking, and shipment manual handling.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Basic proficiency in English reading and communication.
- Fundamental computer literacy and competence with handheld scanners or mobile applications.
- Understanding of operational discipline and compliance requirements.
