Role Overview
As a key member of the Employee Lifecycle team, the Senior Lifecycle Specialist for Employee Relations and Transitions will independently oversee the end-to-end offboarding process of Remote’s external employees across various international jurisdictions. This role emphasizes legal compliance, high standards of quality, and delivering outstanding customer experiences. The specialist also provides first-level support on employee relations, advising clients on workplace issues while coordinating resources for resolutions. They will contribute to continuous process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic objectives and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex employee exit procedures including termination, resignation, and transfers, ensuring an excellent offboarding experience for both clients and employees.
- Offer expert guidance on employee lifecycle matters such as employment contracts, redundancies, and compliance across multiple countries.
- Conduct consultations and facilitate discussions with clients and employees regarding workforce reductions, settlement negotiations, and termination outcomes.
- Negotiate and mediate challenging terminations, aligning diverse stakeholders to favorable resolutions.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Payroll, Legal, Benefits) and external bodies (government agencies, trade unions) to maintain compliance and audit readiness.
- Accurately draft and administer termination-related documents while ensuring strict confidentiality and data privacy.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex employee relations queries and provide mentoring to junior colleagues.
- Assess workplace concerns preliminarily and guide clients on progressive discipline, investigations, and dispute resolution best practices.
- Monitor ongoing employee relations cases to ensure timely follow-up and coordinated management.
- Initiate and advocate for process enhancements, automation, and product development to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Previous experience as an HR Advisor or Business Partner with broad HR generalist skills covering the employee lifecycle.
- Formal qualifications in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Employment Law are advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise managing voluntary and involuntary exits compliantly and sensitively across multiple jurisdictions.
- Solid understanding of employee relations principles, including progressive discipline and workplace investigation techniques.
- Ability to interpret industrial instruments and complex HR issues, coupled with strong problem-solving skills and independent judgment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills capable of managing sensitive discussions constructively.
- Advanced English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong enthusiasm for innovation, automation, and efficiency improvements within HR practices.
- Efficient record-keeping skills and commitment to data integrity.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, remote, and asynchronous international environment while managing competing priorities.
- Self-driven with a strong sense of accountability and ability to inspire others.
- Tech-savvy with fluency in AI capabilities and digital collaboration tools.

- Position based in the APAC region but fully remote.
- Salary range: $46,500 to $117,750 USD annually, reflecting geographic location, experience, skills, and market demands.
