Senior Engineer, Mechanical

Role overview

Rolls-Royce is hiring a Senior Engineer, Mechanical to provide high-level technical support for MTU engines and related systems. Based in Tukang, Singapore (West), this position focuses on commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and project support for marine and power generation applications. The role is intended for a technical specialist who can improve equipment reliability, support customers, and help deliver strong operational performance.

Eligibility and location

This opportunity is open only to candidates who already have the legal right to work in Singapore. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered. The role is based onsite in Tukang, Singapore (West). Relocation support is not offered.

What you will do

• Carry out commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance, and repair work on MTU engines and the systems connected to them.
• Use a structured approach to diagnose and solve difficult technical problems.
• Complete field service and project tasks safely, efficiently, and to the required technical standards.
• Advise customers on technical matters to help improve equipment performance.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, manuals, and other technical documents.
• Coordinate site work and ensure service jobs and projects are completed on time.
• Prepare service records, technical reports, and project progress updates.
• Look for ways to strengthen service processes, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Work with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to resolve technical issues.
• Share knowledge and provide technical mentoring when needed.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Mechanical, Marine, or a closely related engineering field.
• At least 5 to 7 years of practical experience in servicing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and project execution.
• Solid understanding of diesel engines, power generation systems, or marine propulsion equipment.
• Ability to work through complex technical issues independently and effectively.
• Strong mechanical understanding with good analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Capability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Good communication skills, along with customer-facing and stakeholder management experience.
• Willingness to travel within Singapore and the region as needed.
• Knowledge of MTU engines and systems is a strong plus.
• Experience with marine or power generation applications is preferred.
