Security Manager

Role Overview

As a Security Manager at IHG Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar, you will oversee all security operations within the property, ensuring safety, compliance with local law enforcement communications, and effective team management. Your duties will include supervising security personnel, managing schedules, investigating incidents, and maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor incoming communications from the Qatar Police and promptly update the security team with relevant information.
• Perform routine patrols throughout the property to confirm safety and security conditions.
• Organize and lead meetings within the Security Department, participating in broader hotel meetings as needed.
• Evaluate and approve department scheduling and payroll, making adjustments as necessary.
• Coordinate training programs including fire safety, CPR, and other corporate-mandated sessions such as Limo Driver Training and Workplace Violence training.
• Head investigations related to accidents, thefts, property loss, and unlawful acts, documenting findings and advising management accordingly.
• Manage recruitment, oversight, and performance reviews of Security Supervisors and Officers, ensuring accurate reporting and operational order.
• Verify that all checked-in guests have valid identification records shared with the security department per CID requirements.
• Ensure correct and up-to-date input of guest passport and related data daily in coordination with reception.
• Audit the CID system weekly and maintain organized filing for all rooming lists and guest arrival and departure records.
• Maintain liaison with local CID officers and exchange reports with CID operators at neighboring competitor properties.
• Prioritize emergency calls, ensuring immediate response.
• Lead crime prevention initiatives and internal investigations.
• Maintain confidential handling of business information.
• Adhere to high professional standards and grooming at all times.
• Develop effective communication channels with other voco® Doha West Bay Suites sites and associated properties.
• Support Convention and Catering Services by ensuring event safety for guests and staff.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically, documenting pertinent information legibly.
• Periodically review and update security department policies and procedures.
• Manage security equipment, including uniforms, supplies, and technical hardware/software, ensuring readiness and standardization.
• Attend mandatory security-related trainings and meetings including operations and Ministry of Interior updates.

Safety and PPE

Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) when tasks pose health or safety risks. Necessary PPE will be provided, and training on proper use and maintenance will be conducted. Team members must report any defective, lost, or ill-fitting equipment promptly.

Organizational Relationships

• Direct reports include Assistant Director, Safety and Security; Security Officers; Lost and Found Officer; Dispatcher; and Security Supervisors.
