Scrum Master / Business Analyst

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a State Government client as a Scrum Master / Business Analyst based in Melbourne with a hybrid work arrangement. The assignment is contracted until January 2027 with daily rates between $700 and $750 plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership within the Engineering Hub, setting high standards for performance, collaboration, accountability, ethics, and integrity.
• Manage resources and budgets, contribute actively to business and project planning and reporting efforts.
• Drive teams towards consistent delivery of quality outcomes with a focus on customer value and flow maximization.
• Lead elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagements to gather and clarify business needs.
• Transform business needs into user stories, process models, functional specs, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate management of interdependencies within and across projects.
• Collaborate closely with Hub Leads during sprint cycles, supporting backlog grooming, prioritization, and product demonstrations as necessary.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven leadership skills including setting shared direction and proactively addressing strategic challenges impacting operations.
• Experience leading Scrum teams to consistently deliver quality results focused on customer outcomes.
• Certification as a Scrum Master, preferably SAFe SASM or equivalent advanced credential.
• Strong expertise in sprint planning, cadence implementation, prioritization, release scheduling, and deadline management within large, fast-paced Scrum or Scaled Agile environments.
