Work Schedule and Environment
This full-time role requires a standard workweek from Monday to Friday. Compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards is mandatory in the laboratory environment.

The PPD Laboratory Services team based in Athlone leads in providing high-quality pharmaceutical testing services. As a Scientist III specializing in LCMS, you will conduct complex analyses on pharmaceutical products, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance to positively impact patient health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute method validations, transfers, and analytical testing of various pharmaceutical formulations independently.
- Plan and perform experiments with minimal oversight.
- Prepare detailed study protocols, status updates, final reports, and other technical documentation.
- Effectively communicate data results and technical issues with clients and address their requirements.
- Guide and train laboratory team members, support troubleshooting of instrumentation and analytical challenges.
- Assist in protocol design for method validation and transfers and aid in setting project timelines.
- Review analytical data for technical accuracy, protocol compliance, quality standards, and GMP adherence.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of five years of pertinent experience within a GMP laboratory environment working with diverse LCMS instruments such as LCMS-QQQ/Sciex 6500, Orbitrap, or other high-resolution equipment.
- Proven expertise in Method Validation, Method Transfer, and analytical testing procedures.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may also satisfy position requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of method validation; knowledge in method development is advantageous.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, and execution capabilities.
- Collaborative attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
