Role Overview
Marathon Cheese Corporation is hiring for a sanitation role on the third shift, running from 10:00pm to 6:00am. The position focuses on cleaning and sanitizing a food processing facility and its equipment so that food safety and quality standards are consistently met, including requirements set by US Foods and relevant regulatory authorities.

Key Duties
The role involves working as part of a sanitation crew to thoroughly clean the plant and related equipment in a fast and organized manner. Duties include taking processing equipment apart, cleaning it without causing damage, and putting it back together while keeping all parts organized.
The worker must inspect equipment and production areas visually to confirm cleanliness, complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly, and submit it to a supervisor. The job also requires working around operating equipment while using cleaning chemicals as part of the sanitation process.
This position calls for teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to handle additional tasks assigned by the supervisor, as long as they follow production and safety procedures. Responsibilities also include keeping work areas tidy, emptying trash bins, cleaning the trash area daily, operating a trash compactor when needed, and helping clean other parts of the facility such as warehouses, offices, break rooms, restrooms, and QA areas. The role may also involve maintaining the grounds and dumpster areas.
Compliance and Safety
Work must be carried out in line with USDA, SQF, DDA, OSHA, and any applicable state or local rules. The job also requires adherence to company safety practices, PPE usage, GMPs, SSOPs, HAZCOM requirements, and SDS guidelines.
Skills and Knowledge Needed
Applicants should be able to read and write clearly, follow instructions, work with minimal direct supervision, and perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. A pre-employment assessment must be completed.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior exposure to food manufacturing, HACCP, GMP, or SSOP practices is helpful but not mandatory. Previous sanitation experience is also preferred.
Working Conditions
The job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching overhead, and handling objects. Employees must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Physical demands include frequent lifting of 30 to 40 lbs and occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
