Role overview

This position plays an important part in driving sales and delivering an excellent shopping experience in the market hall area of the IKEA store. The role includes product arrangement, upkeep of the sales area, and support with operational tasks assigned by the shopkeeper. Success depends on achieving sales goals, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and following company rules and store standards. The right person will be friendly, energetic, and comfortable in a busy retail setting focused on customers.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve or surpass the weekly sales target.
• Take part in all market hall stock counts and inventory activities.
• Share current and relevant information with customers.
• Project a positive image of the products, the brand, and the organisation.
• Make a strong first impression through an enthusiastic approach and proper dress code compliance.
• Welcome customers promptly and courteously when they enter the store.
• Keep the sales floor neat, clean, and orderly according to store standards.
• Carry out additional tasks allocated by the shopkeeper.
• Attend store meetings and any related gatherings or functions.
• Follow IKEA policies and procedures without exception.
• Work cooperatively and flexibly with colleagues and management to complete assigned work.
• Arrive on time and follow the scheduled working hours.

Requirements

• High school qualification or an equivalent credential.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail sales.

• Ability to remain standing for at least 8 hours and lift stock when required.
