About the Role
At Disney Experiences, the core mission is to "Create Happiness" by enabling teams to push entertainment boundaries safely. We are seeking a dedicated Safety Professional to play a key role in identifying, assessing, and resolving diverse safety challenges within Disney's Food & Beverage operations. This position reports directly to the Manager of Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement food safety and occupational safety initiatives such as HACCP protocols, job task analysis, and injury trend evaluation in partnership with operational leaders.
- Interpret and analyze food safety data, including inspection reports and audit metrics, ensuring corrective actions are completed effectively.
- Support regulatory inspections, including those conducted by local Health Departments.
- Conduct proactive field inspections in multiple food service settings like restaurants, food carts, and retail food locations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on food safety regulations, codes, and industry standards to enhance overall safety compliance and best practices.
- Lead and assist with incident investigations, performing root cause analysis and overseeing corrective actions.
- Build strong collaborations within a complex organizational matrix involving leadership and Cast Members at all levels.
- Coordinate with local stakeholders to promote consistent safety program execution.
- Perform industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments to identify and control workplace hazards.
- Conduct risk assessments and devise strategies to mitigate potential safety risks.
- Use data analytics and trend evaluations to drive proactive improvements in safety measures.
- Manage various initiatives efficiently in a fast-moving operational environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in food safety, public health, occupational safety, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Safety, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of food safety legislation, industry standards, and proven best practices.
- Excellent analytical abilities and decision-making skills to resolve complex safety issues.
- Proven capability to juggle multiple priorities in demanding settings.
- Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking, and presenting to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and managing challenging situations with professionalism.
- Demonstrated consultative skills with the ability to influence across various organizational levels.
Preferred Credentials
- Prior experience within the food and beverage sector.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Food Safety Professional (CFSP), Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay scale for this position in Lake Buena Vista, FL ranges between $83,000 and $111,200 annually. Final salary offers reflect internal equity as well as the candidate’s experience, knowledge, geographic location, and job-related skills. Additional compensation components may include bonuses or long-term incentive units. Full benefits covering medical, financial, and more are provided based on the level and role offered.
