ReFarm Group of Companies, headquartered in the UAE, is a pioneer in Zero Waste Food Security initiatives. The company is dedicated to sustainable food production and minimizing waste, aiming to advance food security in the UAE through innovative circular agricultural technology. The organization is actively engaged in developing advanced warehouse infrastructure, including a 900,000-square-foot "GigaFarm" project situated in Dubai's Food Tech Valley. This project integrates vertical farming towers and a self-sustaining ecosystem to optimize resource use, eliminate waste, and lower carbon emissions within the food sector.
Role Overview
The Safety Officer position at ReFarm centers on championing workplace health and safety during construction operations. The individual in this role is responsible for guaranteeing safe construction practices, safeguarding workers and the surrounding environment, and ensuring full compliance with both local regulations and company safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, oversee, and consistently evaluate the full Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plan associated with the construction project.
- Develop and deliver regular safety briefings (toolbox talks) aimed at educating site laborers and subcontractors on crucial safety measures and hazard awareness.
- Carry out comprehensive and regular site inspections coupled with detailed risk analyses to identify and address potential safety risks proactively.
- Ensure complete adherence to applicable UAE labor laws, local authority safety regulations, and all specific safety requirements related to the project.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of seven years professional experience as a Safety Officer within the construction sector.
- In-depth knowledge of contemporary HSE practices, skilled in conducting effective risk assessments, and well-versed in UAE construction safety standards and labor legislation.
- Strong communication capabilities to efficiently direct and instruct extensive onsite teams.
