ROV Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled ROV Technician to join HullWiper Ltd as part of our team, either onsite or remotely. In this role, you will operate remotely operated cleaning vehicles and lead hull cleaning projects using advanced ROV technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate remotely operated cleaning vehicles efficiently during hull cleaning operations.
• Lead or supervise hull cleaning activities to ensure high-quality results.
• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on equipment such as generators, Denjet systems, umbilicals, ROV units, and associated tools.
• Diagnose and resolve faults through troubleshooting techniques.
• Carry out necessary repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and technical managers on technical issues and spare parts management.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in technology and operational processes.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, sourcing replacements locally when required.
• Communicate job requirements and any problems clearly and effectively.
• Engage and coordinate with ROV site partners, clients, vessel crews, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere strictly to company health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) guidelines and operational protocols.
• Keep work areas organized and clean throughout and after projects.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance and troubleshooting experience with machinery involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and electronic systems; or at least 2 years’ experience operating and maintaining ROV submersibles.
• Sound understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic principles, mechanical and electrical wiring systems.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness skills.
• Technical diploma along with a high school certificate.
• Valid UAE driver’s license.
• Proficiency with MS Office and eagerness to learn new software applications.
• Good command of English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Residency in UAE or willingness to relocate to the UAE.
