Route Trainee

Role Summary

UniFirst Canada is hiring a Route Trainee to begin a career path in customer service and field operations. This position provides practical training through blended learning and on-the-job support while you help with day-to-day route activity and prepare for advancement into a full-time Route Service Representative role.

What You’ll Do

• Take part in the company’s Service Certificate Program, a structured, hands-on pathway designed to prepare you for a Route Service Representative position.
• Help the service team with the loading and unloading of route trucks so each shift starts efficiently and accurately.
• Deliver clean garments and other products to customers and collect soiled items to support dependable service at every stop.
• Cover established routes when a Route Service Representative is absent, while maintaining the company’s service expectations and professional standards.
• Drive a company walk-in truck along assigned routes and represent the organization with a strong focus on safety and customer relationships.
• Work in both indoor and outdoor settings and handle a role that is active, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
• Support the success of the Service Department by contributing to customer satisfaction and smooth daily operations.
• Follow a consistent Monday to Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• You must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and dependable transportation, while also meeting all Ministry of Transportation requirements.
• A high school diploma or CAEC is required.
• You should be able to work independently while still contributing as part of a team and delivering strong customer service.
• Experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery is an advantage.
• You need to be comfortable learning and using technology that supports operations and improves the customer experience.
• You must be able to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods.
