Job description
About the Role
The Southern Region Command within the Custodial Operations Division oversees custodial services throughout Queensland. This involves supervising individuals in custody at high and low security correctional centres. High security facilities manage adult prisoners securely across the state.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Proven experience in managing staff rosters, ideally in a 24/7 operational setting.
- Competent information technology skills with readiness to learn new systems and efficiently use internal databases and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines while adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
- Effective problem-solving capabilities using diverse strategies, including independent and team approaches.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to engage with various stakeholders, negotiate staffing and human resource matters, and provide clear information both in person and via telephone.
- Willingness and ability to familiarize oneself with applicable laws and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management alongside other office technology.
