Position Overview

The Room Attendant role, reporting to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, involves ensuring guest rooms and hotel areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene according to Mandarin Oriental's strict quality criteria. The person will be responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and arranging guestrooms daily and keeping public spaces free of rubbish and debris.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain both occupied and vacant guestrooms to meet established standards demonstrated during training.
• Collect soiled linens and towels, delivering these to housemen or disposing of them via linen chutes.
• Deep clean bathrooms and associated areas using prescribed chemicals, then dry all fixtures and surfaces.
• Neatly arrange toiletries on a cloth in occupied rooms.
• Restock amenities and terry items promptly.
• Make beds according to the appearance standards taught.
• Fold and arrange guests' clothing neatly following the prescribed method.
• Clean inside windows, mirrors, and all parts of the guestroom and bathroom thoroughly.
• Clear room service trays from guest corridors and place them in designated areas for pickup.
• Vacuum carpets and wipe down furniture and baseboards within assigned zones according to standards.

Eligibility and Experience Requirements

• Completion of Senior School or equivalent education is mandatory.
• Possession of a degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management is advantageous.
• At least one year of experience working in housekeeping within a 5-star hotel environment is required.
• Knowledge of housekeeping chemicals, linen handling, and relevant equipment is a plus.
