Role Overview
The Remote Referral Management Clerk is vital in handling referral and clinical documentation processes within a centralized healthcare operations center. This role guarantees that patient records and referral information are thorough, precise, and readily available to ensure coordinated specialty care, thereby enhancing patient care and operational preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect clinical documents from network providers and pursue resolution of incomplete or missing records.
- Evaluate chart notes for clarity, completeness, and adherence before associating them with patient files and referrals.
- Upload, organize, tag, and maintain clinical records using approved healthcare platforms.
- Investigate claims, referral details, clinical histories, and chart documentation to assist referral management.
- Handle secure message requests, provider communications, outgoing calls, and other patient assistance functions.
- Monitor requests, follow-ups, and outcomes to support accountability and quality control.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy, security, and healthcare guidelines while delivering customer service.
- Work collaboratively with Military Treatment Facilities, providers, and internal groups to support referral and documentation workflows.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- At least six months experience in healthcare administration.
- Strong skills in customer service and telephone communication.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- High attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 including Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
- Preferred: Experience with MHS GENESIS, CXOne, or comparable call center healthcare software.

- Hourly wage ranging from $22 to $23 depending on experience and skills.
