Regional Director of Operations - Coffee

Position Overview

The Regional Director of Operations is a senior leadership role accountable for the overall success, profitability, and cultural integrity of multiple locations within a designated area. Reporting to the Brand President, this position leads multi-unit and store managers to ensure all locations meet brand standards, provide outstanding guest experiences, and achieve operational and financial goals. The role involves translating strategic objectives into actionable plans at the store level, fostering leadership development, driving sales and margin growth, preserving company values, and supporting new store openings during expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for profitable performance of all stores within the region, safeguarding company culture and values.
• Create and implement regional plans to meet financial, operational, and customer service targets, aligning field leaders with clear priorities.
• Lead and mentor multi-unit and store management teams with consistent, constructive feedback focused on defined expectations.
• Maintain a frequent and visible presence in locations to enforce processes, evaluate performance, support staff, and stay engaged with daily operations.
• Manage regional profit and loss, controlling costs such as COGS and labor through operational oversight, inventory, and workforce scheduling.
• Analyze regional performance metrics, detect trends, and apply corrective measures for continuous improvements and profitability protection.
• Ensure adherence to service standards, including drive-thru wait times, cleanliness, and product quality to deliver superior guest experiences.
• Identify and develop talented managers and shift leaders to build a deep leadership bench, enabling internal promotions and succession planning.
• Collaborate with training and operations excellence teams to deploy company initiatives and operational best practices across the region.
• Support the launch and ramp-up of new locations with appropriate staffing, training, and brand compliance from opening day onward.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and all relevant health, safety, labor, and regulatory requirements.
• Be accessible and responsive to field and store teams, offering prompt guidance and solutions for staffing, guest, and operational challenges.
• Lead and participate in leadership and regional meetings to keep teams aligned with company aims, strategies, and priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
• Minimum six years of progressively responsible operations leadership experience, including at least two years managing multiple units, ideally in restaurant, retail, foodservice, or hospitality sectors.
• Proven success in leading multiple locations to surpass sales, profitability, and customer service objectives.
• Strong financial skills with experience managing P&L, COGS, labor, and operational budgets across several units.
• Proven ability to develop and coach leaders and teams effectively, with demonstrated internal talent promotion history.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of enforcing accountability while fostering trust and positive culture.
• Proficient in using POS, scheduling, inventory, and reporting tools to drive data-based decisions and monitor performance.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the region and work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

Supervisory and Budget Responsibilities

This role oversees multi-unit and store managers in the region, responsible for their performance and leadership development. The Regional Director manages the regional operating budget and oversees profit and loss performance, expenditures, and variance management. Purchase approvals are required from the Brand President.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position operates across stores, field locations, and office spaces, requiring regular travel within the region. The job uses common office and retail equipment like computers, phones, and POS systems. Physical demands include frequent talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, hand usage, reaching, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment capabilities.

Work Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time exempt role typically working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, irregular hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends are expected due to operational demands. Travel constitutes up to 75% of work time, including potential overnight stays throughout the assigned region.
