Position Overview
Join the St. Regis Hotels & Resorts team as a Recreation Supervisor at The Pearl Island in Doha, Qatar. This full-time, non-management role focuses on designing engaging recreational activities, ensuring guest participation, and maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and publish recreational activity schedules and promotional materials using publishing tools.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies, materials, and equipment; alert management when stock is low.
- Encourage guest involvement by recruiting, registering, and scheduling participants for various recreation events.
- Create and maintain a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for guests.
- Provide comprehensive information about available recreational facilities and activities to guests.
- Enforce facility rules to promote safety and well-being of guests and members.
- Observe recreational activities and respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies according to local guidelines.
- Identify situations where guests may be unable to safely participate and communicate such concerns to supervisors.
- Offer aid to injured guests until professional medical services arrive.
- Clean and upkeep recreational equipment and supplies to ensure quality and hygiene.
- Support management in training, motivating, and coaching team members, acting as an exemplary role model.
- Report incidents, unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications as required.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and safeguard company assets.
- Anticipate guest needs, including providing assistance to individuals with disabilities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, using appropriate phone etiquette.
- Build and sustain positive workplace relationships with colleagues and management.
- Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately, handling payments as necessary.
- Promote and uphold quality standards while suggesting improvements to enhance organizational performance.
- Perform detailed visual inspections to ensure the functionality and safety of tools and equipment.
- Operate computer and point-of-sale systems to input and retrieve job-related information.
- Carry out physical tasks involving prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance.
- Navigate confined spaces and varied terrains safely, maintaining flexibility and mobility during work shifts.
- Complete other duties as assigned to support team and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
Mandatory Certifications
- CPR certification.
- First Aid certification.
- Training and certification in recreation and fitness equipment operation.
- Compliance with all certification requirements mandated by local and state agencies.
