Role Overview
The Arthur South Day Procedure Unit operates a multi-disciplinary approach to care for patients attending for surgery and Pre-Op Assessment appointments. The administrative team, including Receptionists and Admission Clerks, collaborates to support clinical staff in delivering excellent, patient-centered healthcare at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Staff are expected to embody the hospital’s core values represented by the acronym ‘PRIDE’ — focusing on People, Respect, Dedication, Integrity, and Excellence. This role is vital in providing an effective reception function at the Arthur South Day Procedure Unit and Ambulatory Care Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and check in patients for clinic visits and surgical procedures.
- Record patient outcomes and discharge details through forms and hospital information systems such as PAS.
- Compile and organize medical records ensuring readiness for clinical use.
- Handle complex patient inquiries by liaising with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a compassionate approach.
- Work collaboratively within the administrative and clinical teams as a strong team player.
