Radiographer

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Radiographer to join the Imaging department at Harbour Hospital in Poole, part of Circle Health Group, a leading independent healthcare provider in the UK. This is a permanent full-time position offering 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern between 8am and 8pm, including weekend on-call duties from home.

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct various diagnostic radiographic procedures such as general X-rays, theatre imaging, fluoroscopy, and mobile imaging in adherence to referrals and imaging protocols.
• Produce high-quality images that facilitate accurate diagnoses, reducing the necessity for repeat exposures.
• Modify techniques appropriately for different patient groups including children, bariatric patients, and those with restricted mobility.
• Deliver a safe, respectful, and person-centered service, ensuring patients are well-informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examinations.
• Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and act promptly if any deterioration occurs.
• Perform regular equipment checks, maintenance, and safe usage, reporting any malfunctions immediately.
• Support the adoption and operation of new imaging technologies and digital systems like PACS and RIS.
• Collaborate effectively with radiologists, consultants, nursing staff, porters, and administrative personnel to streamline patient care pathways.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a BSc (Hons) degree in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent qualification.
• Hold current HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Experience with general radiographic techniques and handling imaging equipment.
• Good working knowledge of IR(ME)R regulations, health and safety standards, infection control procedures, and patient confidentiality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills paired with a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work well independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Additional postgraduate training or experience in specialized imaging areas such as CT, MRI, theatre imaging, or mammography is advantageous.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is up to 39,000 per annum, dependent on experience, qualifications, and training level. Benefits include:
