Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This role involves reviewing tender documents, analyzing project requirements, and managing cost controls throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budget adherence and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze tender documents and project scope accurately.
- Address queries and clarifications during tendering.
- Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and nominate suitable subcontractors and suppliers.
- Evaluate quotations by considering price, qualifications, scope, and compliance.
- Develop vetting sheets, analyze collected bids, and deliver recommendations.
- Perform quantity take-offs from tender drawings and design sketches post-contract.
- Generate monthly cost reports, including cashflow and completion forecasts, and commercial progress reports for clients.
- Manage change processes ensuring recovery of contractual entitlements; maintain variation order logs and price variations accurately.
- Ensure prompt certification and payment applications within contractual timelines.
- Plan and execute procurement of subcontract works, including negotiation of prices and payment terms, and preparation of agreements.
- Oversee subcontract management, recommend payments aligned to work progress, review claims, validate insurances and bonds, and recommend final accounts.
- Draft contractual correspondence for both main contracts and subcontracts.
- Provide practical guidance on commercial and contractual challenges during meetings.
- Monitor and control project risks, changes, and overall costs to avoid budget overruns.
- Deliver precise financial reporting on project performance.
- Administer main and subcontract agreements throughout the project duration.
- Assess project costs against market benchmarks for feasibility and suggest improvements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related Engineering field.
- Strong communication and negotiation capabilities paired with analytical problem-solving skills aimed at practical solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of all FIDIC contract editions, including the 2017 version.
- A minimum of 4 years professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in Dubai.
