About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor and Billing Manager to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This role involves managing quantity estimation, client and subcontractor billing activities, monitoring costs, and ensuring compliance with project contracts. The candidate will work closely with project managers and contracts managers to oversee all billing and quantity surveying functions within the project execution department.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit running account (RA) bills and final bills accurately and on time to clients.
- Verify and process subcontractor bills, ensuring all measurements align with contractual agreements.
- Conduct on-site measurement of completed work according to approved engineering drawings.
- Maintain and update the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) throughout project phases.
- Collaborate with site engineers to collect and confirm work measurement data.
- Keep measurement books (MB) and billing records diligently, tracking progress against billing milestones.
- Prepare quantity reconciliation statements and monitor material usage, ensuring consistency with project budgets.
- Draft variation claims and extra item statements when necessary.
- Assist in reviewing tender BOQs and contract documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve billing related issues and maintain smooth communication.
- Manage work order quantities and track any amendments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor pending certifications and assist in payment follow-ups to maintain project cash flow.
- Support the preparation of project cost control reports and forecasting efforts.
- Ensure strict adherence to contract terms and billing procedures, maintaining comprehensive documentation and records.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- B.E., B.Tech, or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Between 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in construction contracting companies.
Skills
- Expertise in quantity surveying practices.
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation and quantity take-off.
- Client billing processes, including RA and final billing.
- Subcontractor billing verification.
- Cost estimation and project cost control techniques.
- Rate analysis and contract management understanding.
- Familiarity with measurement books and tender documentation.
- Technical skills in AutoCAD, MS Excel, ERP billing systems, and MS Project.
