About the Role
A well-established, major main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland, and parts of Europe is currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position based in Dundalk. The company specializes in capital projects for large pharmaceutical, technology, and food sector clients, managing turnkey construction projects from initial earthworks through to final commissioning and handover. These projects typically range in value between €50 million and €250 million.
The Quantity Surveyor will report directly to a Commercial Manager and will be part of an ongoing project in Dundalk, with subsequent projects expected in Belfast and North Dublin. This position is ideal for a proactive, hands-on professional seeking substantial growth opportunities within an established organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report project costs utilizing Construction Computer Software.
- Procure, evaluate, and approve selected contractors and suppliers.
- Maintain all contractual correspondence ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Continuously track project progress to ensure adherence to schedule and budget constraints.
- Quantify material and work quantities from drawings for input into cost estimation templates.
- Prepare enquiry documentation using standard pro-forma to assemble competitive tender packages.
- Analyze subcontractor quotations to enable normalization and comparison, selecting the most competitive proposals for client submissions.
Candidate Requirements
- Approximately five years of relevant experience.
- Possession of a third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience working with a main contractor or subcontractor within the UK or Ireland construction markets.
Compensation and Benefits
The company offers a competitive remuneration package with a salary range of €80,000 to €90,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience. Additional benefits include car allowances, pension contributions, private healthcare, and various other perks.
Additional Information
This is a permanent, full-time role based onsite in Dundalk. Subsequent projects may be located in Belfast and North Dublin.
