About the Role
Join a reputable steel processing and fabrication company in Canning Vale, WA, committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. This permanent, full-time position operates Monday through Friday with the option to start early from 6:30am. The role involves direct collaboration with management and staff to uphold rigorous standards in quality assurance, workplace health and safety, compliance, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and sustain Quality Management Systems alongside workplace procedures.
- Regularly review and enhance quality standards, specifications, and operational processes.
- Work jointly with internal teams to maintain adherence to Quality Accreditation Systems.
- Handle investigation and resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Monitor quality metrics and propose initiatives for continuous enhancements.
- Ensure all activities conform to relevant quality standards and legal requirements.
- Develop and revise Workplace Health & Safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Carry out workplace inspections to identify hazards and perform risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents thoroughly, compile reports, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Guide and coach employees on safe working practices to foster a positive safety culture.
- Manage compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Identify staff training needs and organize training sessions and employee inductions.
- Oversee pre-employment and ongoing medical assessments for employees.
- Encourage open communication and support effective employee relations.
- Promote accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the business operations.
Candidate Profile
- Proven QA and/or Safety expertise within the steel processing or fabrication sector is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian WHS legislation and quality management concepts.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and managing incident investigations.
- Proficiency in administering quality systems and addressing NCRs.
- Strong knowledge of accreditation and compliance demands related to quality assurance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Solid organizational skills with capability to prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively.
- A proactive mindset with enthusiasm for enhancing processes and safety standards.
