Role Overview
This part-time Purchasing Assistant position at Project Academy is situated in Dubai and offers a hybrid work setup with some remote work flexibility. The assistant will aid everyday procurement operations such as generating and managing purchase orders, updating supplier details, and ensuring timely receipt of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations by comparing pricing and terms in accordance with internal policies.
- Assist in selecting vendors to support operational needs.
- Coordinate closely with finance and operations teams to validate invoices and address discrepancies related to orders.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers and internal departments to manage inquiries and follow up on order statuses.
- Contribute to ongoing enhancements of purchasing procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and common practices.
- Experience in preparing, reviewing, and monitoring purchase orders.
- Basic knowledge of procurement principles and vendor management.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
- Attention to detail with precise data entry and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with spreadsheet tools and ERP or purchasing software.
- Capability to work both independently and within a team in a hybrid work setting.
- Previous purchasing, procurement, or administrative support experience preferred.
- A diploma or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related disciplines is considered beneficial.
