Public Policy Manager - Saudi Arabia

About the Role

Join Amazon's International Public Policy group as a Public Policy Manager based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves collaborating within a broad, dynamic team supporting Amazon's consumer and digital business interests across diverse regions including Europe, Middle East, Africa, India, and Asia Pacific. The position focuses on engaging with government bodies, industry groups, and NGOs on a wide scope of policy challenges related to consumer and commercial domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with policymakers and non-governmental organizations within Saudi Arabia to support Amazon's consumer-focused business model.
• Maintain deep knowledge of relevant regulatory and public policy landscapes and identify key influencers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with local and global Amazon teams to formulate and execute advocacy and engagement strategies.
• Develop and implement external outreach, partnerships, and advocacy initiatives aligned with business goals.
• Manage Amazon's involvement with industry associations and coalitions, including oversight of consultancy engagements.
• Provide strategic recommendations and innovative solutions for complex business and policy challenges, demonstrating sound judgment especially amidst ambiguity.
• Collaborate effectively within regional and international organizational frameworks, balancing assertiveness with respectful teamwork.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development, or related fields.
• At least 10 years of experience in public policy roles.
• Fluent communication in both English and Arabic—written and spoken.
• Preferred: advanced degree in public policy or similar areas.
• Proven experience working collaboratively in complex matrix environments including legal, public relations, and business teams.
• Background in public policy within consumer-facing, technology, or retail industries.
• Project management expertise.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to translate broad directions into specific measurable outcomes.
• Skilled in coordinating diverse internal and external resources for strategic purposes.
• Strong decision-making ability grounded in experience and data analysis, particularly under uncertain conditions.
