About Plan International Pilipinas

Project Overview

The foundation is running a multi-year health project aimed at enhancing local health systems and expanding access to quality, inclusive, and responsive health services for vulnerable communities. The project supports local stakeholders to improve health governance, service delivery, and systems strengthening with a focus on equitable, accessible, people-centred health care.

Role Summary

The Project Officer will provide direct support to community-level activities to promote access to quality health care. This role demands active engagement with communities and stakeholders to mobilize participation and facilitate project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project specialists to ensure technically sound, quality activities aligned with public health standards at community level.
  • Lead community participatory analyses and consultations applying a gender-responsive perspective to identify health challenges.
  • Engage diverse stakeholders including community members, local government units (LGU), and healthcare providers for meaningful involvement throughout the project.
  • Develop and conduct capacity-building programs for children, families, LGU staff, and other stakeholders focused on strengthening local health systems.
  • Support participatory planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health interventions using gender-transformative methods.
  • Compile comprehensive reports documenting community-level project activities and outcomes.
  • Assist in emergency response activities in alignment with the organization’s humanitarian efforts.

Qualifications

  • University degree in health-related fields (Public Health, Nursing, etc.), Social Work, Community Development, Social Sciences, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of community program implementation experience, with at least 2 years in health-related projects.
  • Strong grasp of community development, stakeholder collaboration, advocacy, and all phases of public health program cycles.
  • Knowledge of children's rights, government health initiatives, community-based health systems, health governance, gender equality, and inclusion in public health.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented with capacity to work in diverse, dynamic environments.
  • Willing and able to conduct extensive fieldwork within project areas.
  • Must be a Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines.
