Role overview
The Project Manager will take charge of assigned EPC and maintenance-related project work from the initial planning stage through construction, commissioning, handover, and final close-out. This position is accountable for the project timeline, budget, resources, on-site execution, technical alignment, client communication, safety, quality, and commercial follow-up.
The role involves guiding project engineers, site engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure delivery is safe, professional, and consistent with both customer expectations and company standards.
Core responsibilities
- Direct EPC and maintenance project delivery from construction start through commissioning and completion.
- Create and manage execution plans, project schedules, and budgets.
- Track site progress, quality matters, and cost performance across the project.
- Act as the coordination point between engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and customer site teams.
- Check or coordinate review of drawings, technical submissions, method statements, material submissions, test plans, and other project documents.
- Organize and supervise testing, flushing, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, and handover activities.
- Work with operations and maintenance teams after handover to support a smooth move from project delivery into plant operation or maintenance.
- Oversee QA/QC records, as-built drawings, test documentation, commissioning reports, O&M manuals, spare parts lists, and handover packs.
- Review project status reports, progress updates, look-ahead schedules, and internal or client-facing management updates.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Coordinate closely with site engineers, internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors to keep delivery on track.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Environmental, or a similar field.
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in EPC, construction sites, plant projects, water treatment, wastewater treatment, or process plant environments, ideally in a project lead or supervisory role.
- Solid understanding of EPC workflows, project controls, site execution, engineering coordination, procurement coordination, testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, method statements, project schedules, and commercial documents.
- Strong leadership, client communication, coordination, negotiation, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, vendors, site teams, risks, and multiple stakeholders at once.
- Working knowledge of water treatment, wastewater treatment, UPW, RO, chemical dosing, pumps, piping, tanks, instrumentation, or related plant systems is an advantage.
- Willingness to be site-based and support critical project stages, shutdowns, commissioning, and urgent matters when needed.
