Project Director (Large Scale Building Construction Projects)

Role Summary

The Project Director will be responsible for steering major building construction programs from end to end, with accountability for safe execution, quality outcomes, schedule adherence, budget control, and client satisfaction. This position calls for strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders, while ensuring the project remains aligned with its objectives and local authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set the overall direction for the project and lead delivery across safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client expectations.
• Coordinate and guide multidisciplinary teams along with key project stakeholders throughout the full delivery cycle.
• Handle commercial, contractual, and risk-related matters on large construction assignments.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant engineering field.
• At least 20 years of experience in large-scale building construction, with a track record of completing projects of similar size and complexity.
• A minimum of 10 years in senior leadership positions on construction projects.
• Prior exposure to projects in Qatar or the GCC region.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong background in commercial oversight, contract administration, and risk management on major construction work.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6, BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks, and digital construction workflows.
• Valid MMUP/UPDA registration, where relevant.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work on site.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering accommodation compounds, residential projects, or large building complexes.
• Exposure to QatarEnergy, major clients, consultants, and local authority processes.
• Current MMUP/UPDA registration in Qatar.
